Kenny & Nichelle Barringer 

            My name is Kenny Barringer and I am the Founder of  The Haunted Uwharrie Mountains Paranormal Society, T.H.U.M.P.S.

             I have lived in Albemarle, North Carolina all my life. I have experienced the paranormal face to face and that is why I wanted to form this group. I would like to help others to understand and hopefully not be afraid to live or work where paranormal phenomenon may or may not be accruing.

            After working in the construction field for more than 13 years. Being an electrician and also having experience as a framing carpenter. I have found that many of  these phenomenon are normal and natural. If not; Then you are not alone!  We will work  together to help you find peace of mind.

      My name is Nichelle Barringer. All my life I have been interested in the paranormal my entire life. I love to help organize and keep things rolling for the group! I do go on investigations when needed and I like helping and educating people that do not understand the paranormal! I have three beautiful kids and enjoy playing and spending time with them. Chellie Hartsell 

                  Hi, My name is Chellie Hartsell and I am a co-founder of The Haunted Uwharrie Mountains Paranormal Society.  We are locally called T.H.U.M.P.S. for short.

                  I was born and raised in Stanly County, North Carolina.  I have always been very interested in ghost stories and hearing about other people's experiences with the paranormal.  Since I was a little girl, I have been drawn to and fascinated by these kinds of events.  I have searched on my own for years.  So it has been a life long journey of exploration and learning.

                  Working with The Haunted Uwharrie Mountains Paranormal Society is giving me the opportunity to work with others that have the same passions.  Myself, I've not had a lot of paranormal experiences, but the ones I have had stuck with me.   Also, working with T.H.U.M.P.S. is helping me find answers to the question; WHY?  I want to  understand and help others to do the same.  I believe everything has a meaning.  Otherwise nothing would matter.

     Michael Hopkins 

                 My name is Michael Hopkins and I am a  co-founder of The Haunted Uwharrie Mountains Paranormal Society.  I was born in Oakland, California. I have lived in Stanly County, North Carolina most of my adult life.

                  I have always had an interest in the supernatural.  I have studied Psychology and Religion for many years.  Human nature fascinates me.  Why do people do what they do?  Is there life after death?

                   I am a retired Correctional Officer.  That's where I really came into contact with the paranormal.  Many people die and are killed in our prisons.  Not only that, there are many forms of Religion in the prison system.  You see and hear the strange and unusual.  At times; I was frightened by what I saw and heard.  This all sparked my interest.

                   Working with T.H.U.M.PS. has given me the opportunity to study and prove that I was not crazy.  That is a great relief.  Just knowing that your really seeing and hearing these things mean a great deal.  The reality is that something is out there and you are not out of your mind.

TODD THOMAS

I was born and raised in Concord, NC. I am a grad of Concord high class of 1983, moved to Oakboro in 2003, and have been here since. I have for as long as I can remember always had a great interest in ghost, ghost stories and the unknown. During my school days my friends always thought I was a little weird because of my interest in the paranormal. I have always been kind of sensitive to the unseen energies around me.

When I was 6 or 7 years old I had a brother who was killed in a car wreck. I had several experiences with him afterwards at the house, the first couple times something happen I told my mom and maybe dad as well. It’s hard to remember that long ago but, I do remember them telling me I just dreamed it or just thought I seen something. It was normal to experience things like that from that much drama but, i knew what i was experiencing was very real. I saw him several times and he spoke with to me. I have also had experiences in other houses also.

 I either seem drawn to the paranormal or it to me, so when I got to Oakboro in 03, I took a little time to make some friends and put together Oakboro ghost hunters. We have had some great experiences, over the years, and my passion for the subject has grown much stronger. When I met up with the guys from THUMPS, they all seemed to be on the same page of what I have been searching for. I greatly thank these guys for allowing me to be part of their team, and I look forward to helping this group advance in the paranormal field. So if you are someone who has interest or any questions about the paranormal, please feel free to contact one of us.  Whether you believe or not... I know for sure it is there. I have experienced it several times. Maybe stop and listen long enough and you just may experience for yourself, something unseen or unknown.

Tiffany Johnson 

Tiffany, at an early age, showed an interest in the Metaphysical realms. At 14, she began reading Tarot cards for friends and family. Continuing through junior high, high school & college she read, honing her talents and developing others.

Further into adulthood, a series of events brought her back to her New Age Spirituality and deeper studies of holistic healing, herbs, oils, stones, energy work, past life work, Angels, Reiki, etc. Having personally worked and trained with well known psychics and healers, she knows what an integral part of life and soul development readings can be.
